SKF Precision Technologies, a unit of SKF USA Inc., introduces 3-axis Module-Mation MM400 manufacturing cell series; now available for cutting demonstrations
Grafton,
WI - SKF Precision Technologies, a unit of SKF USA
Inc., announces the introduction of a new reconfigurable Module-Mation
3-Axis manufacturing cell. Ready for part runoffs in its Grafton, Wisconsin
facility, the Module-Mation MM400 3-axis or 4-axis module is designed
for use in the automotive, die-cast machining and high-volume manufacturing
where flexibility in metal cutting is required.
MM400 uses reconfigurable elements: spindle, column
position, way style, compound X-Z or Z-Y to deliver more flexible and
economical manufacturing cell solutions. It is designed to provide stiffness
and responsiveness to its machining capabilities of aluminum, cast iron
or steel.
One in a series of three 3-axis stations, the MM400
module parameters includes a 500mm Z-axis, a 400mm X-axis and a 400mm
Y-axis. The unit offers a traverse rate of 950 inches per minute, an
acceleration rate of 80 inches per /sec./sec. and thrust of 3000 lbs.
psi.
MM400 accepts 40 or 50 milling taper or HSK 63 tooling.
Spindle selection also includes a 24,000 RPM, 22kW, high-speed integrally
motorized spindle; a high-torque, belt-driven spindle; or a 6-position
indexing turret head.
The control-ready modules are equipped with the
following standard features: limit switches, lubrication systems, piping,
wiring, steel way covers and pneumatic counterbalance. A full CNC station
is also available as standard.
