SKF Precision Technologies, a unit of SKF USA Inc., introduces I-SEAL fail-safe air seal to increase bearing life
Grafton,
WI, SKF Precision Technologies, a unit of SKF USA Inc.,
introduces the I-Seal fail-safe air seal. The new seal prevents
spindle bearing contamination and will increase bearing life for improved
uptime and production. Featuring an I-Beam design that evenly distributes
an air film around the bearing, the new seal cant be damaged due
to unexpected loss of air pressure, because centrifugal force is used
in conjunction with air pressure.
The I-Seal fail-safe air seal works at any
duty cycle and can be used in high-pressure coolant applications. Five
to 10 psi of air pressure continuously purges the bearings through the
radial I-Beam distribution ring.
SKF Precision Technologiess I-Seal fail-safe air seal has
been in use for many years in SKF spindle designs and in SKF Precision Technologies spindles
supplied to machine tool builders and automation companies.
SKF Precision Technologies, a unit of SKF USA Inc., is an ISO
9001 registered global supplier of high-precision machine components,
including slides, spindles, customized modular components and index
tables. SKF is the world's largest bearing manufacturer with over 70
factories worldwide.
